Is
it time to change our attitude
About
the all-green lawn?
Well, imagine, if you will, a day
When
all the turf is gone.
Not
one blade left of Kentucky Blue,
No
fescues and no rye;
Just
a field of sunshine-yellow blooms
Beneath
the bright-blue sky.

If
we hadn’t all been raised to think
The
dandelion’s a weed,
This
cheery flower might not seem a blight,
But
a groundcover we all need.
For
covering ground is its aim in life,
At
that, no plant is as good.
So
let’s raise a toast to the dandelion
“The
little weed that could”.
