In case you’re wondering, Santa, what a gardener needs,
Here are a few little hints: Let’s start with those weeds.
We all hate pulling dandelions as you probably know,
So, Santa baby, how about a new hoe?
For our feet, some garden shoes that rinse with a hose;
(We’ve always wanted a pair of those).
To stake up those peonies, an adjustable ring,
And some sharp, new pruners would be just the thing!
A chandelier for my arbor would be quite fantastic,
And some nice clay-look pots made from tough resin plastic.
A bath, house or feeder for birds-of-a-feather,
Plus some tough garden gloves made of durable leather.
A pretty obelisk for hosting a vine,
And to welcome my visitors, a nice garden sign.
Lots of seeds to start sowing as wind and snow chill us,
And a winter-long stock of top-sized amaryllis,
A nice, lightweight spade that cuts soil like butter,
And a fancy new sprinkler that won’t squirt or sputter.
What else? Hmmm... a teak bench would be a nice gift,
And a charming fountain would give the fish pond a lift.
But if you're tired, dear Santa, and your feet have grown sore,
How about a gift certificate to my favorite garden store.
